This is a flexible and useful application for reading QR Code, Linear and DataMatrix barcodes. If the barcode represents a web-site, as is often the case with a QR Code, this application will automatically take you to the website represented by the QR Code.

But... interestingly, if the barcode represents a NuEra ID identifier, the server will either handle the request or refer the scan to a NuEra IDs customers server for it to handle.

For example, if you have just scanned a bottle of wine and the wine maker is using NuEra ID to individually identify every bottle they make, it would be possible for the wine-makers server to tell you all about the bottle you have scanned; including the person who made the wine, when it is best consumed, and, depending on retailers cooperation, when the wine was distributed and sold. This prevents people selling counterfeit wine. It also provides an excellent opportunity for wine makers and, indeed, the manufacturer of any product, to engage with their customers and sell more.

The universal adoption of NuEra IDs technology will significantly combat the causes of "Retail Leakage", something which costs the retail industry around $120 billion per year, and it will assist in the prosecution of wrongdoers. This is because NuEra ID makes cost affordable the individual identification of any item of interest in an organisation or process and, as a consequence, it is practical to scan any item and learn of its lifes history; including whether it has passed through a point of sale.

With NuEra ID, the application of unique ID is limited only by the imagination. For example, it can be used to mark eggs so that their type and provenance can be established. This prevents vendors miss-representing their eggs as being organic when they are not, or the product of free-range chickens when they are not.

It can even be used for individually marking ammunition cartridge cases and bullets which would aid police and peace-keepers in tracking down wrong-doers.

It is even useful for the rigorous control of democratic elections, ensuring voters dont vote more than once and that ballot papers are genuine, that is, ballot boxes are not "stuffed" with phoney papers.

Also of importance is the fact that NuEra IDs unique System of Individual Identification can interface and inter-cooperate with any existing ID system, including GS1.

The key points of NuEra technology are that it:
